One of Singapore's most talented artists, Iskandar Ismail's illustrious music career began in the 1970s, and he has since composed, arranged and been the music director for many a National Day Parade.

He was instrumental in other major events like Chingay, the Asian Youth Games and Youth Olympic Games.

In 2008, he won the Singapore Cultural Medallion for Music.

He was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010, and passed away in 2014 in his home. He left behind his wife and two grown-up children.
